GENERAL SUMMARY: Participates in the design and implementation of the leadership giving program in conjunction with the director of leadership giving within the guidelines of federal, state and local laws and office , division and college policies and procedures. Reports to the director of leadership giving or other designated person and works with co-workers, donors, volunteers, alumnae and college personnel.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Participates as both a face-to-face fundraiser and a strategic manager in the implementation of the leadership giving program to achieve fundraising goals.
  2. Responsible for prospect management, solicitation, and stewardship of assigned prospects.
  3. Assists in the identification, qualifying, tracking, cultivating and soliciting of prospects as designated and quantified in the development plan, monitoring and reporting fundraising progression toward projected leadership giving goals.
  4. Coordinates closely with manager of donor relations on the proper follow-up of visits and stewardship of donors.
  5. Works with the director in positioning the leadership giving program for the college's next comprehensive campaign.
  6. Manages volunteers and coordinates meetings and events as necessary.
  7. Assists the director with the preparation of reports and proposals for use in solicitations by staff, administration, trustees and volunteers.
  8. Visits 8 donors in face-to-face meetings each month, in Atlanta and regionally.
  9. Works closely with the research staff to ensure prompt delivery of post-visit contact reports and follow-up work.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Assists with development and Agnes Scott community events as requested.
  2. Attends professional conferences and maintains professional reading as necessary or applicable.
  3. Assists with gift planning projects and visits as requested by the director.

REQUIREMENTS

Education: BA/BS in related occupational field of study.
Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years, preferably in non-profit and fundraising environment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Considerable knowledge of fundraising techniques and procedures, and Agnes Scott College history, goals and policies.
  • Strong knowledge of Atlanta community.
  • Proficiency in modern computer software which should include Windows, Word and Excel; database management helpful.
  • Familiarity with capital campaign and gift planning methods.
  • Proven success and ability in working with a variety of people and personalities, managing diverse tasks simultaneously, organizing, strategizing and decision-making.
  • Proven ability in public presentations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and to maintain confidentiality.

Other:

  • Irregular hours and overtime required on a regular basis, depending on special events, projects and travel.
  • High self-confidence and poise necessary.
  • Willingness to travel extensively as well as visit with Atlanta area donors, providing own in-town transportation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking and occasional moving of light objects. Work is performed in an office or at off-campus social/business settings.
