GENERAL SUMMARY: Establishes and directs Graduate Admission for Agnes Scott College's portfolio of Master's Degree and Post-Baccalaureate Graduate Certificate programs, develops and implements recruiting strategy, admission policies and processes, supporting systems, and all related plans and budgets within the guidelines of federal, state and local laws and office/department, division, and college policies and procedures. Reports to the assistant dean for graduate and extended programs and works with colleagues across campus, prospective students, and both on and off campus constituents.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Develops and implements the recruiting strategy, admission policies and processes, supporting systems, and all related plans and budgets for graduate and post-baccalaureate certificate programs.
  2. Recruits, trains, and supervises admission staff as the programs grow.
  3. Collaborates with marketing and the assistant dean for graduate and extended programs to develop and implement a strategic marketing and recruitment plan to ensure graduate enrollment goals are met.
  4. Develops and updates print collateral, messaging, and web site content that reflect the features, differentiators and value proposition for each graduate program.
  5. Implements admission requirements and the application and evaluation process for all new graduate programs; collaborates to refine requirements and process for the Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Med program as appropriate.
  6. Recruits students in line with the college goals: travel, events, personal interviews, correspondence, and telephone communication.
  7. Reviews admission applications and evaluates credentials.
  8. Works with the assistant dean for graduate and extended programs to assess admission decisions.
  9. Collaborates with financial aid to make recommendations to the assistant dean for graduate and extended programs on the selection and awarding of merit-based scholarships.
  10. Coordinates with the director of admission operations to handle back office processing of all applications, decision release, deposit and transcript handling, etc.
  11. Develops internal policies and procedures that leverage technology and existing capabilities.
  12. Regularly reviews and implements enhancements to improve the efficiency and efficacy of processes and policies.
  13. Analyzes recruiting and admission strategies and activities, including effectiveness, outcomes, and cost analyses makes recommendations to the assistant dean for graduate and extended programs in order to achieve enrollment goals
  14. Adapts and revises from the undergraduate admission processes, as appropriate, data gathering, maintenance, and reporting processes and standards to enable strong program evaluation capabilities.
  15. Represents graduate programs on appropriate committees in absence of the assistant dean for graduate and extended programs.
  16. Manages and develops the graduate admission staff as it is established and grows.
  17. Manages the annual budget for graduate admission.

REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of seven to ten years of work experience with substantive experience in graduate-level admission or marketing.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience as a highly organized self-starter with excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written; and demonstrated ability to work independently with limited guidance.
  • Possess strong initiative and the ability to create plans and processes without an existing roadmap.
  • Ability to work effectively with a team and with many diverse constituencies in a college environment.
  • Possess strategic thinking, planning, and project management skills; proven ability to design, develop, and implement new processes and policies; and entrepreneurial spirit – interest in building and growing new programs with limited resources.
  • Possess proven data analysis skills and attention to detail.
  • Possess strong emotional intelligence, relational, and persuasion skills; and impeccable judgment and discretion in dealing with issues pertaining to confidentiality.
  • Customer service-oriented.
  • Ability to be creative with limited resources, and work effectively across multiple constituencies.
  • Good working knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and database management.
  • Good working knowledge of or ability to quickly learn standard admission and student information system software.
  • Ability to travel from office to other locations on a regular basis.
  • Willingness to commit to and advance the mission, vision, and short and long-term goals of Agnes Scott College.
  • Irregular and overtime hours are required for special projects and events.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking, and occasional moving of light objects. Work is performed in an office.
